UPDATED:

In August 2006, I flew from California to Chicago, and was picked up at the airport and driven 100 miles to Valparaiso IN. I was booked to perform at a show called URBAN RENNAISANCE, for John Filewich, who put on this event.

The next day, when it was time to drive me back to Chicago as we agreed, John said he was "too tired". In trying to be understanding, I agreed to rent a car and drive myself back to Chicago. He gave me a check to cover the cost of the rental car. He sais he was too tired to go to an ATM, and promised the check was good.

The check was bad.

He agrees many time in emails that he owes the money, but has never made good on this bad check he wrote me. Is it ok to abandon me over a hundred miles from Chicago?

Dennis,

I am sorry I abused your trust and good faith. I am sorry to all the promoters that have been burdened by the additional deposit. I am truly sorry for how things have happened. My intentions were pure. I worked very hard to make something happen here. I had been hosting smaller events in this area for years. I tried to make something bigger happen. I failed dearly. That event set me back and I am literally just now recovering from it almost a year later. I had full intention of making good on said check long ago, and still do.

From an outside perspective it would look like I just ran off with some broad in love. That is only the part of it the world got to see. Much went on behind what the world was shown on my space. I have been to court and been arrested all because of that event. I am not asking for sympathy. As I said before what happened was wrong, and never should have gone the way it did.

I did not mean for any of this to go the way it has. Your wish for this to haunt me has come true for the better part of the past year. I still owe good friends money from that event, and have not been able to reimburse them. I really want to make this better. I want to bury the hatchet. I am sure we will never have a working business relationship ever again, but I do want to clear my debt to you, and maybe clear my name with you. By July 31, 2007 I will have made restitution with you. It has been wrong of me to run from my past for the last year.

I appreciate your sarcasm. I am truely sorry about last year. That even is still haunting me. It destroyed my career as a promoter. I lost more than just money that night. I would like to apologize for the way things turned out. I can't change the past. I can't go back and not throw the event, nor can I go back and make it work. All I can do is learn from what I have done wrong, and deal with the rammifications that I have had coming to me. I am truely sorry dennis. No excuses. What happened was bullshit. It was wrong.

Many years later now, I'm still waiting to see any money back! I waited over a year of false promises before posting this page.

This 2007 CRIME PAGE also shows an unrelated arrest for check fraud. It says: "ARRESTS Feb. 16-22 Check fraud | John Filewich, 23, 306 N. Morgan, Valparaiso"
