Shows, shows, shows, as usual! Also, look in the video section here for a video blog of a typical day on the road with skylab2000. Working on loads of new stuff, as usual. Did a ring tone for Start Mobile, and a remix for Trixie which is in the Billboard charts! Also have a track in Konami's Dance Dance Revolution Universe out now! |

Urb has called skylab2000 live performances "incredible" and "fantastic." Djs such as Dave Dresden [Gabriel & Dresden] call the Rollergirl single "the bomb of all bombs." In the UK, the BBC's Pete Tong chose Auburn as an "Essential Selection." These are just a tiny sample of the compliments collected on the road skylab2000 has traveled. The twist - skylab2000 is not a DJ or a 'laptop' band. This is a fully LIVE electronic music performance. Since 1994, Dennis Barton has been making hard hitting dance music and traveling city to city to play it for the best audiences in the world. With a full set of synths, samplers, mixer, and effects units, a skylab2000 show is a unique experience. This music is played live on stage, with real vocals, changing to the crowds needs and creating a ride to remember. The sound is an eclectic blend of hard house, breaks, techno, electro, acid, and trance. After a few years in London and New York, skylab2000 is now planted in the Los Angeles area, but playing live shows has taken him around the world: Russia, Japan, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Montreal, Puerto Rico, Vancouver, Molvania, Mexico and more! In America, skylab2000 has played in almost every state, including hundreds of live shows in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Miami, Memphis, Las Vegas, Anchorage, Seattle and so many more. DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Frankie Wilde and Keoki play skylab20000 tracks. The public also gets in on the act: On the seminal mp3.com music site, the Rollergirl track became the number one most downloaded song overall, with around ONE MILLION downloads. skylab2000 tracks appear on many compilation CDs, on iTunes, and on mix CDs by Thomas Michael, Superstar DJ Keoki, Grover, DJ Psycho-Bitch, John Kelly, Sol Brothers and Taylor; on labels such as Moonshine, Koch, JDJ, Phatt Phunk, 3am Records, Brainiak (UK), City of Angels, Genesis Project, and many more. Now even video games soundtracks from major companies get the skylab2000 touch. Microsoft's "Amped" and Konami's new "Dance Dance Revolution Supernova" have skylab2000 tracks included. What's next? Stay tuned. Mission control out. |
